Vampires - Vampexico
The Berlin-based Vampires are synominous for most original surf sound, humungeous guitar thunderstorms, exclusive stage shows, and probably the longest songs in our field. After Bat Attack they cast out these three brandnew tracks with the Reverb Certificate.
"The Vampires belong to the good German instrumental surf bands. Here we got three songs with a smooth melodic flow and a strong steady groove. The guits sound just like the 60s without too much overdrive. That flaw disappointed me on many other recent recordings. That overdrive Im talking is cool on stage but not on record. Personal fav is the A-side Vampexico with its great hook and that aforementioned groove.(Could it be that the guitar riff is remindful of When The Saints Go Marching In?)
