On hearing that Fleetwood Town FC followers The Cod Army had adopted the chant "Anarchy In The UK", Californian Punk Rock band The Sex Presleys wasted no time in recording their own version of the song as a tribute to their favourite "soccer" team and it's renowned supporters.
The San Francisco four piece took "I Wanna Be Cod Army" chant and set it to an authentic Sex Pistols arrangement, with a result that sounds like something that would have been banned from Top Of The Pops in 1977.
The Sex Presleys, well known for their Punk Rock interpretations of Elvis Presley classics, have been following Fleetwood Town FC since being signed by Fleetwood based label Raucous Records who released their "God Save The King" album earlier this year.
"I Wanna Be Cod Army" is coupled with a reworking of Elvis Costello's classic "Oliver's Army", retitled "We're The Cod Army", and given a bustling guitar driven Punk Rock arrangement which The Clash would have been proud of. Also included are instrumental sing-a-long
